When it comes to the wedding industry, for some reason it seems most editorial departments and advertisers are unaware of the fact that magazines and media outlets, are lacking diversity in their content. In fact, in a recent study conducted by a University of Missouri- Columbia researcher and a professor at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas it was discovered that from the years 2000 to 2004, African American brides made up fewer than 2% of the advertisements in the issues they examined and none of the cover models. And that, simply won’t do! Rather than let the past dictate the future, Eliana decided to do something about it. At first she created a gorgeous keepsake quality lookbook featuring stunning black brides in each of the unique weddings portrayed. The project received an overwhelming response from both brides and vendors in the industry who expressed the need to see the pages of B inspired the Book come to life in a magazine format. They needed more, the world wanted more and Eliana decided more meant not just diverse weddings but events of all varieties. And so B inspired the Magazine was born. An expansive collection of breathtaking weddings and jaw dropping events from around the nation. Seeing the need for a magazine that showcases events of color, Time Magazine has partnered with Eliana to produce the publication that will feature the finest vendors in the wedding and event industry. From elaborate weddings to over the top birthday parties, the pages of B Inspired will showcase the growing event planning industry and how the trends are changing from season to season. In addition to seeing real events, those reading the magazine will have the opportunity to learn from some of the top wedding pros. There will be in-depth editorials that will provide wedding do’s on dont’s and insider tips on how to make your event stand out above the rest. It will inspire readers to create a day truly worth remembering. Photo by Milanes Photography
